Cologne (TDI): Over 50 Pakistani companies are exhibiting their food and agro products at ANUGA 2025, the world’s largest trade fair for the food and beverage sector in Germany.
Happening till October 8, the exhibition draws some 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries and is expected to attract around 140,000 visitors from nearly 200 nations.
Under the aegis of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the Pakistan Pavilion spotlights a spectrum of local produce: rice, processed foods, pink salt, fruit juices, and other value‑added agro items.
According to TDAP Deputy Director Hina Tahir, the pavilion is designed to reflect Pakistan’s evolving agricultural value chain and compliance with international quality norms.
Participation includes 34 firms at the national pavilion, while others are participating independently. Export figures paint an encouraging trend for Pakistan.
During the first nine months of FY 2024–25 (July–March), agro‑food exports climbed 1.62% year‑on‑year to $5.75 billion, up from $5.66 billion the previous year.

Notably, Pakistan achieved a record $8 billion in agro exports in the 2023–24 year, a 37% jump from the prior year’s $5.8 billion.
Beyond product exposure, Pakistani participants are engaging in one-on-one business matchmaking sessions with international buyers, networking events, and efforts to forge partnerships across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
TDAP also plans to ride the momentum to promote FoodAg 2025, the country’s home‑based international food and agriculture expo scheduled in Karachi from November 25‑27.
Trade analysts see Pakistan’s expanded presence at ANUGA as an effort to reposition itself from a raw commodity exporter toward a more integrated agro‑industry hub.
The country has been actively participating in similar trade exhibitions, where relevant local companies take their products to global markets. The trend is largely visible in food, snacks, beverages, and bakes industry.
Last month, nineteen Pakistani firms, including 17 private companies and two under the umbrella of TDAP, showcased confectionery, baked and frozen goods at at ISM Middle East 2025, in Dubai.
