Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, called on Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at the Parliament House, on Wednesday , where both sides reaffirmed the strength of Pakistan–China relations.
During the meeting, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described China as Pakistan’s closest and most reliable friend, emphasizing that Beijing has consistently stood by Islamabad during difficult times.
He expressed pride in the all-weather and enduring friendship between the two countries, noting that Pakistan–China relations are built on strong foundations of mutual trust, respect, and shared strategic interests.
The Speaker appreciated the close cooperation between Pakistan and China in both economic and defense sectors, stating that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to deepen with the passage of time.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan and China are not only neighbors but also long-standing strategic partners who have supported each other through regional and global challenges.
Highlighting the importance of security collaboration, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed that Pakistan–China defense cooperation plays a vital role in promoting sustainable peace and stability in the region.
He noted that cooperation in defense and security contributes to deterrence, balance, and confidence-building, which are essential for maintaining peace in South Asia and beyond.

Recalling his previous tenure as Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq termed the address of Chinese President Xi Jinping to a joint sitting of the Parliament of Pakistan as a historic moment and a great honor for the Pakistani Parliament.
He said the address symbolized the depth of bilateral ties and reflected the high level of trust between the leadership of the two countries.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked the Speaker for his warm sentiments toward China and appreciated his positive remarks regarding bilateral relations.
He said that the peoples of Pakistan and China are bound together by strong, time-tested bonds of friendship that continue to grow stronger with each passing day.
The Ambassador added that the strategic partnership between the two countries is advancing steadily in diverse fields, including defense, economy, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the current trajectory of Pakistan–China relations and reiterated their commitment to further strengthening cooperation for mutual benefit.
