“The Indian Charge d’Affaires was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today for a démarche, conveying this decision,” it further said.
Earlier India also declared a Pakistani official at the High Commission in New Delhi as persona non grata, asking him to leave in 24 hours, without disclosing the nature of allegations.
Both India and Pakistan have engaged in multiple tit-for-tat diplomatic moves since the Pahalgam attack of April 22, 2025, in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
India unilaterally pulled out of the Indus Waters Treaty while Pakistan revoked the Simla agreement. Both countries also confronted each other militarily and even after the ceasefire of May 10, sentiments are hot.
