Islamabad, 3 May 2023 (TDI): Today, the opening ceremony of Anatolian Eagle 2023, International Flight Tactical Exercise, was held in Konya, Republic of Türkiye.

Pakistan Air Force contingent arrived on April 25, consisting of F-16 fighter jets, air, and ground crews, at the 3rd Main Jet Base in Konya.

Azerbaijan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom are taking part in the seventh consecutive edition of the exercise with their jets.

The AE training is similar to the Red Flag (RF) training which has been performed in the Nellis Air Base in the USA.

AE training and exercises are performed in a close-to-real war environment, with a difficulty level from easy to hard, with the advantage of technology and by monitoring the quality of the training on the computer environment.

The basic plan of the scenario consists of the attack of the BLUE team with Combined Air Operation on the tactical and strategic targets in RED lands, which are defended by fighter aircraft and SAM systems.

UAE Force is taking part with F-16 Block 60 aircraft, which are the only ones of their kind. The Saudi Kingdom will participate with its F-15SAs, and the Royal Air Force will bring Eurofighter Typhoon jets.

29 April, Azerbaijani aircraft involved in the Anatolian Eagle-2023 International Exercises have performed their first flights.

In AE-22, Pakistan Air Force participated with 6 General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons from 11 Squadron. The General Dynamics F-16 Fighter Jet is an American single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force.

The Pakistan Air Force spokesperson called the exercise one of the largest and most complex joint air force drills in the world, as it mimics a realistic aerial war.

DGPR stated today that the Pakistan Air Force contingent, consisting of F-16 fighter jets along with the air and ground crew, carried out the exercise along with the participants.
