Rawalpindi (TDI): The Pakistan Air Force’s participation in the World Defense Show 2026 (WDS-26) in Saudi Arabia underscores Pakistan’s growing stature as a rising centre for aerospace innovation and dependable defence capabilities, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing described WDS-26 as one of the world’s leading platforms for defense and security, noting that PAF’s presence at the exhibition highlights the country’s progress in indigenous aerospace development, operational expertise and reliable defense solutions.
The ISPR said the exhibition provides an opportunity for the air force to present Pakistan’s rapidly advancing aviation capabilities and its record of operational excellence to a global audience.
As part of the showcase, the PAF is displaying its flagship JF-17 Thunder Block-III multi-role fighter jet along with the widely used Super Mushshak basic trainer aircraft.

The JF-17 Block-III, regarded as the most advanced variant of the program, features modern avionics, an advanced AESA radar, an upgraded electronic warfare suite and beyond-visual-range combat capability. These features position it as a 4.5-generation fighter designed to meet the demands of contemporary air combat, the statement said.
Alongside it, the Super Mushshak highlights Pakistan’s expertise in pilot training solutions. Known for its reliability, affordability and ease of maintenance, the aircraft has been inducted by several friendly countries and remains a benchmark platform for basic flight training worldwide.

According to the ISPR, PAF’s participation in WDS-26 reflects the leadership’s vision of strengthening defence cooperation, expanding defense exports and deepening strategic partnerships with friendly nations.
The exhibition also offers a platform for interaction with international delegations, defense officials and industry leaders, enabling discussions on collaboration, training initiatives and technology transfer.
