Muscat, 30 June (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr Hamd Al Busaidi, and Sameh Shoukry, the Foreign Minister of Egypt, paid a visit to Al Alam Palace.

The official talks between the two foreign ministers took place during the two-day visit of the President of Egypt, Abdul Fateh el Sisi, to the Sultanate of Oman.

The aim of the visit was to discuss common areas of interest and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

The discussion covered several fields, which included economics, science, tourism, and investment. The two dignitaries exchanged recommendations and consultations on various regional and international issues.

This occurred in the light of developments in the Arab region and the international world.

In addition, the two presidents highlighted the importance of resolving current regional conflicts through peaceful means, negotiations, and dialogue.

Oman-Egypt discussion

The two leaders also reaffirmed their support for any actions that promote peace, stability, security, and harmony between the two countries.

The action for support also covered the region and the world and increased growth. The two presidents also lauded the efforts of the Omani-Egyptian Business Council in promoting bilateral economic relations.

Additionally, they mentioned the desire to upgrade their economic cooperation. The two leaders underlined potential unexplored fields of investment such as renewable energy, real estate development, and health.

Other fields include pharmaceuticals, industry, petrochemicals, manufacturing industries, information technology, and tourism.

As a result, there was an instruction on concerned departments to look into opportunities for mutual benefit and development.

Furthermore, the Egyptian president reiterated the desire to broaden the horizons of bilateral relations in all spheres. This would not only help promote mutual benefits but would also serve the brotherly people of the two countries.

A number of memoranda of understanding were signed during the visit of the president to Oman. These include fields such as environmental protection, export development, labor and training, sports, and higher education.

Moreover, the Egyptian president reiterated the desire to broaden the horizons of bilateral relations in all spheres. This would not only help promote mutual benefits but would also serve the brotherly people of the two countries.

The president of Oman congratulated the president of Egypt for hosting the upcoming 27th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP-27), which will take place in Sharm El Sheikh on 27th November 2022. The dialogue was held under the spirit of harmony, brotherhood, and kinship.
