In a significant diplomatic telephone call, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, engaged in discussions with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, focusing on the escalating Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Jeddah, 1 November 2023 (TDI): In a significant diplomatic telephone call, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, engaged in discussions with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, focusing on the escalating Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The call marked a crucial effort to address the ongoing crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Hissein Taha, the OIC Secretary-General, called upon the European Union to play an active role on the international stage, defending international law and universal humanitarian values.

He emphasized the urgency of halting the Israeli military aggression against Palestinian civilians and stressed the necessity of opening humanitarian corridors to ensure the safe and continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
