Abuja, 28 September 2021 (TDI): The Nigeria-Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NRCCI) has been established in Abuja to enhance economic connections between both countries.
Obiora Okonkwo, the President of NRCCI, met with the Deputy Head of the Russian Embassy, Valery Shaposhnikov, at the inauguration ceremony of the Nigeria-Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss commerce and trade advancement between Nigeria and Russia.
Moreover, according to the Deputy Head of the Russian Embassy, Valery Shaposhnikov, Nigerian and Russian trade worth is $600 million without petroleum products.
Furthermore, The NRCCI’s President, Obiora Okonkwo, told the media in Abuja that the organization’s primary goals are to develop commerce and industry, trade, and auxiliary services.
Aims and Objectives of RCCI
Additionally, the NRCCI aims to study and promote commercial relations between Nigerians and Russians. NRCCI provides a platform for Nigerian and Russian businesses to connect, discuss topics of common interest, share information, give advice, and collect ideas for the beneficial mutual economic and trade improvement and interests. NRCCI also aims to protect commercial relations between Nigerians and Russians.
NRCCI is established to foster, advance, and protect commercial, industrial, trade, and professional enterprises and, without limitation, other activities and business undertakings of all kinds in the locality and elsewhere. The objective is to study, promote, protect, and extend the industrial and commercial relations between Nigeria and Russia’s individuals, companies, corporations, institutions, and associations.
This will pride Nigerian and Russian businesses with a forum for contacts, discussion of common interest, information, advice, and collation of ideas for the improvement of economic and business interests. The Chamber will also organize seminars and conferences including trade missions between the two countries. The most important part is to liaise with the Chambers of Commerce including other important government bodies for the advancement of the trade and commerce.
