Chengdu: July 7, 2021 –(TDI): Turkey is all set to open a new Turkish consulate in Chengdu, Sichuan province of China. The consulate is opening to enhance the diplomatic presence of Turkey in China. The news was announced on the official website of the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of Sichuan Provincial Committee of CPC, on Wednesday.
This will be the 3rd consulate general of Turkey established in China. The Chinese government and Turkey has secured an agreement in the form of exchange notes to construct a consulate general in Chengdu.
Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of Sichuan Provincial Committee of CPC stated that Sichuan’s integration into the Belt and Road Initiative will be aided by the creation of a Turkish consulate general in Chengdu and it will also boost collaboration between Sichuan and Turkey in the areas of investment, trade, and people-to-people interactions.
