Gaza (TDI): Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to join US President Donald Trump’s newly formed “Board of Peace,” according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office on Wednesday.

The board, which Trump describes as a group of global leaders working to resolve conflicts, was initially intended to manage the reconstruction of Gaza after the war. However, its charter does not restrict its work to the Palestinian territory, and membership comes with a fee of up to $1 billion for permanent participants.

According to the charter, the board’s mission is to “promote stability, restore reliable governance, and ensure lasting peace in regions affected or at risk of conflict.” Trump will serve as the chair of the board and also represent the United States personally.

Several countries and leaders have reportedly received invitations, including both traditional US allies and countries that are usually considered rivals. Recently, the UAE president and Bahrain’s king confirmed their participation, joining a small group of nations that have endorsed the initiative. France, a long-time ally of the US, has reportedly declined the invitation.
