Markedly, the primary goal is to prepare the soldiers for cooperative involvement in combined actions.

On the Bulgarian side, military personnel from the Command, Control, and Surveillance Base, MiG-29 fighter jet planes from Graf Ignatievo Air Base, Su-25 aircraft crews from Bezmer Air Base, and crews of AS-532 Cougar helicopters from Krumovo Air Base are participating in the exercises.

Moreover, the planes will complete tasks related to the flight rescue operation. Both the Air Force and the Land Forces are participating in the exercise with their air defense formations.

Furthermore, F-18s of the Royal Air Force of Canada will also be deployed from Romania. Romania is the neighbor of Bulgaria in the North.

Also, the F-16 aircraft of the Air Forces of Romania and Greece will perform missions. They will fly and land at their respective military airbases.

In the town of Elena, US Air Force troops will conduct the aircraft operations. Since 2010, the yearly joint exercise “Thracian Viper” has given the member countries’ air forces the chance to gain valuable expertise in the settings of actual international conflict.
