Islamabad, 15 August 2024 (TDI): The U.S. Mission to Pakistan has welcomed the arrival of its new Deputy Chief of Mission Natalie A. Baker in Islamabad.
Natalie previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Doha, Qatar from August 2021 to July 2024. Before this, she was stationed at the State Department’s Near Eastern Affairs Bureau as Director of the Office of North African Affairs.
Natalie is a Harvard graduate in Public Policy. Besides, she is a 2017 Distinguished Graduate of the National War College, National Defense University of the United States of America.
Natalie has an impressive resume as a diplomat. During her illustrious career, she has also served as Deputy Chief and Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Mission to Libya, Deputy Director of the Iran Regional Presence Office at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai, and Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait.

Moreover, she has also worked with Kuwait’s Department of Defense to ensure the smooth withdrawal of the U.S. troops from Iraq.
From 2009 to 2011, Natalie worked as a Political and Economic Counselor in Libya. She was part of the normalization of bilateral relations between the U.S. and Libya after 30 years. She left when the U.S. embassy was forced to shut down during the Libyan Revolution in February 2011.
Her previous assignments were Special Assistant in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Consular Officer in Islamabad, Pakistan, and as a Cultural Officer in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
