Naqvi lauds High-Tech Training at Beijing Police College

Beijing (TDI): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Beijing Police College on Thursday, where he reviewed state-of-the-art training programs and praised the institution’s professional standards.

During the visit, Minister Naqvi observed demonstrations showing how specialized vehicles are used to apprehend suspects.

He commended the officers for their skill and professionalism, singling out the special vehicle squad for their exemplary performance. “I am highly impressed by the professional capabilities and outstanding training of the vehicle squad,” he said.

Naqvi announced that all Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from Pakistan’s National Police Academy will undergo a one-month training program at the Beijing Police College.

He added that collaboration between the two institutions will be strengthened, ensuring that Pakistani officers receive education and professional training in line with modern policing standards. A formal agreement between the two academies is expected to be finalized soon.

The minister also tested an advanced driving simulator and received a briefing from College President Wu Wei on technology-based training methods, including AI-integrated systems, simulators, and tools for crowd control, handling violent incidents, and crime prevention. The college operates 12 faculties and employs over 400 staff, with half holding PhDs.

Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, DG National Police Academy Muhammad Idrees, DG National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency Syed Khurram Ali, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa accompanied the minister during the visit.
