NADRA Mobile App to Be Launched on Jan 17

Islamabad (TDI): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday that it will launch a new mobile application for services provided by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Naqvi said that the ministry was going to shut down the Pak ID website – a portal for NADRA services – on January 17 (Friday).

He added that all services will now be provided through a mobile app, set to be launched on Friday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.

He said that the decision was made to accommodate overseas Pakistanis who faced difficulties in accessing the website, particularly in uploading documents and biometric verifications.

The minister also pointed out that some fake websites were being run by scammers for the creation of fake identity documents. “We cannot rule out the threat of misuse of citizens’ personal information,” Naqvi explained.

He assured that NADRA was in contact with institutions to take strict action against fraudulent individuals.

“Through the mobile phone application, NADRA will ensure better services to public, including the creation of identity cards, NICOP, POC, B-form, and FRC, in a smooth way.

Naqvi further announced the opening of three NADRA regional offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

“These regional offices will be operational by March 31,” he said, adding that the ministry was also working on improving NADRA services in remote areas.

He also shared the government’s plan to establish NADRA regional offices in 19 districts of Punjab.
