Baku (TDI):Muhammad Asif Noor, CEO of Belt and Road Consultants Pvt, Chairman of Diplomatic Insight Group of Companies, and Chairman of Global Business Alliance, joined Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official delegation to Azerbaijan, representing Pakistan’s business and diplomatic sectors at the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum in Baku.
The forum, co-chaired by President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focused on expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions centered on Azerbaijan’s commitment to investing $2 billion in Pakistan, with key areas of focus including energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and defense production.
Azerbaijan’s interest in Pakistan’s defense sector, particularly its acquisition of JF-17 fighter jets, was also a key topic at the forum. Both sides discussed opportunities for joint defense production, along with enhancing transportation links, including collaborations on the North-South Corridor and Gwadar Port, to boost regional trade connectivity.
During the visit, Muhammad Asif Noor engaged with senior officials, business leaders, and policymakers from both countries, emphasizing the role of public diplomacy, trade diplomacy, and strategic partnerships in strengthening Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations.
He highlighted the importance of bridging the information gap between business communities, ensuring better access to trade and investment opportunities.

The Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum provided a platform for business-to-business engagements, paving the way for deeper economic cooperation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the establishment of a permanent Information Bureau, aimed at facilitating real-time updates on business policies, trade regulations, and investment prospects between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, including agreements on LNG trade, oil pipeline collaboration, and urban development partnerships between Lahore and Nakhchivan. These agreements are expected to accelerate economic integration and strategic cooperation.
The Pakistani delegation paid tribute at the Victory Monument, honouring Azerbaijan’s martyrs of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, followed by a formal reception hosted by President Ilham Aliyev in honor of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the delegation.
Muhammad Asif Noor’s participation in the high-level delegation is an important milestone for BRC and Diplomatic Insight Group. Asif Noor has shown his commitment to promoting economic diplomacy and strengthening Pakistan’s engagement in global trade and investment initiatives.
