Moscow, 19 October 2021 (TDI): On the death of Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State of the United States, Moscow expresses its condolences. Colin Powell passed away at the age of 84 on Monday, as a result of COVID-19 complications.
Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministery of Russia, Maria Zakharova said that Colin Powell was a renowned government, military and political leader who served at high positions in the administrations of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.

The Former Secretary will be remembered first and foremost as a skilled professional and patriot of his country. The life story of Colin Powell will serve as a symbol of the American dream Maria Zakharova added.
The spokesperson further said that we express our condolences to Powell’s family and friends, as well as everyone who knew and admired this great gentleman.
The United States and Russia have one of the world’s most significant, vital, and strategic foreign relations. Both countries have shared interests in nuclear safety and security, nonproliferation, counterterrorism, and space exploration.
