Marrakesh, 7 July 2022 (TDI): Corporate Council on Africa in partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco announced that Marrakech will host the US-Africa Business Summit on July 19-22, 2022.

The Summit will bring together thousands of U.S. and African private sector executives, international investors, senior government, and multilateral stakeholders.

‘Building Forward Together’

The theme of this year’s summit is “Building Forward Together.” The Summit is aimed to build on the momentum of last year’s Virtual Summit.

The 2021 Summit focused on unique opportunities for the new US Administration to engage with African partners as they work together amidst the Covid-19 pandemic to shape the path for economic recovery.

Subsequently, the 2022 Summit aims at exploring paths of a renewed commitment by both public and private sector stakeholders. This will help in building stronger US and Africa trade, investment, and commercial ties.

Moreover, it will have a number of plenary sessions, high-level dialogues, sessions highlighting recent US initiatives in Africa, private meetings, and networking sessions.

Legacy of US-Africa Business Summits

The US-Africa Business Summit is one of the key platforms for US-African trade, cooperation, and investment partnership. It helps shape the bilateral trade and investment policies.

It primarily serves as a platform for African and US private sector and government representatives to engage in key sectors. Among the sectors, Agribusiness, energy, health, infrastructure, trade facilitation, ICT, and finance have received the most attention over the years.

In addition, the Summit participants can network with the key private sector and government officials. It will give them a chance to explore new business opportunities, meet potential business partners, and forge new business deals.
