Riyadh, 22 November 2021 (TDI): Political Directors of E3 members held a meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council on Thursday. Special Envoy of the US for Iran also attended the meeting. E3 members include France, Germany, and the UK. While Egypt and Jordan from Gulf Cooperation Council attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the participant discussed the security and political situation in the Middle Eastern region. They also particularly discussed sanctions on Iran.

Additionally, the participants deliberated over the upcoming “Seventh round of talks” between Iran and the USA on the restoration of JCOPA. During the meeting, the representatives from E3 and USA emphasized the importance of a negotiated solution between Iran and the USA. E3 members reiterated that the solution is important for Europe and the region beyond.

In addition, political representatives of E3 and the Special Envoy of the US for Iran greeted the cooperation of Gulf states. They also appreciated the efforts of Gulf partners in deescalating tensions and promoting dialogue and peace in the region.

E3 Members+US together with Gulf Council affirmed to cooperate further in the future regarding security concerns in the region. They also addressed the concerns over destabilizing activities in the Middle Eastern region.

Moreover, the meeting of the Gulf Council with E3 + US also addressed concerns over the transfer and use of ballistic missiles. In this regard, they strongly condemned hostile activities in the region.

Lastly, they reemphasized the importance of the restoration of JCPOA for regional benefit, peace, and order. Participants highlighted that mutual compliance with JCPOA by Iran and USA would provide the region with opportunities for partnerships and trade. They also underlined that such opportunities will bring lasting positive benefits and growth for the Middle East region.
