Yangon, 30 September 2023 (TDI): The enchanting ‘Many Splendored Yunnan Life’ photo exhibition, a celebration of Yunnan Province’s ecological beauty and cultural charm, made its dazzling debut at the Yangon Chinese Cultural Center.
Yangon Chinese Cultural Center is nestled alongside the majestic Irrawaddy River. This event, held on September 25th, transported visitors on a visual journey through the heart of Yunnan.
It showcased the openness, vitality, and deep-rooted ‘Bao Bo’ friendship between China and Myanmar.
Yunnan, situated in the southwest of China, shares its borders with Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. Its rich tapestry spans from lush tropical rainforests to the towering peaks of Meili Snow Mountain, offering a diverse range of experiences.
The photo exhibition, divided into four sections, introduced viewers to Yunnan’s diverse facets. In the first part, the guests were transported through time as they immersed themselves in the ancient tea forests of Jingmai Mountain.
They explored the millennia-old Bulang Ancient Village, plucked tea leaves alongside traditional Bulang villagers, and savored the entrancing aroma of tea in a World Heritage milieu.
Likewise in the second section, the attendees unearthed Yunnan’s botanical marvels, encompassing over 19,000 plant species, including rare and untamed flora.
They also marveled at the resplendent Rhododendron arboretum in Lijiang and the luminous Blue Jacaranda trees in Kunming, illuminating the night with their brilliance.
In addition, in the third segment, they traversed the diverse ethnic cultures of Yunnan along with witnessing the distinctive attire and vibrant traditions of ethnic groups such as the Lisu, Wa, Tibetan, and Jingpo.
The guests also immersed themselves in the festivities of the Water Splashing Festival, Monon Line Dance, and the Dai New Year.
Besides that, in the fourth part, the participants were able to encounter breathtaking natural landscapes, including Changjiang First Bay, Stone Forest, Meili Snow Mountain, and Tiger Leaping Gorge.

These images showcased Yunnan’s diverse topography, adorned with tranquil lakes and majestic waterfalls. It is noteworthy that the ‘Many Splendored Yunnan Life’ photo exhibition will continue to captivate audiences until October 1st.
This exhibition is part of the 2023 ‘Full Moon and Blooming Flowers’ Mid-Autumn Cultural Exchange Activities in Myanmar.
It is organized by the People’s Government Information Office of Yunnan Province and the Yunnan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
This series of events, including the ‘Full Moon and Blooming Flowers’ cross-border Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, seeks to foster cultural exchange and strengthen the bonds of the ‘Bao Bo’ friendship between China and Myanmar.
The event also included the ‘Many Splendored Yunnan Life’ photo exhibition and the 2023 ‘Full Moon and Blooming Flowers’ cross-border Mid-Autumn Cultural Arts Celebration.
