Islamabad (TDI): At Islamabad Airport, the Customs officials confiscated more than twenty-six imported phones, among them the recently released iPhone 16 Pro Max.
According to sources, thirty iPhones were seized by customs officers stationed at the Islamabad airport, marking the first instance of the device being used against foreign travelers.
According to sources, the traveler was communicating with Customs officials and was a resident of Quetta. The other employees, however, stopped this attempt to smuggle phones.
With the recent release of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, Pakistani dealers are making significant profits by importing phones duty-free and reselling them on the local market.

The traveler has been the subject of a formal complaint filed by Customs officials. The name of the official who spoke with the passenger to clear the phones, nevertheless, was left out.
A few days before, phones were seized by Customs officials at Islamabad Airport; however, no formal complaint was filed. Every item seized for more than Rs. 5 million requires the Customs agency to file a formal complaint.
