Kyiv, 23 October 2023 (TDI): The Ukraine Peace Formula meeting is expected to take place from 28 to 29 October in Malta, according to a statement by President Zelensky on Saturday.
“Next week’s hosting of the peace formula talks in Malta is the most concrete support that a country like Malta can provide for keeping the Ukrainian cause high on the international agenda,” Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Borg said.
Furthermore, the meeting in Malta would be a follow-up of the previous meetings that took place in Copenhagen and Jeddah in June and August.
The meeting will contain officials from more than 50 countries, excluding those from Russia.
“Malta supports the Ukrainian cause by taking a principled position at various multilateral fora and also by providing humanitarian aid and assistance. Next week’s hosting of the peace formula talks in Malta is the most concrete support that a country like Malta can provide for keeping the Ukrainian cause high on the international agenda,” Borg said.
In December 2022, President Zelenskyy urged the world leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) to support his proposal for a global peace summit that would ensure a peace plan “as a whole or some specific points in particular.”

In accordance with Ukraine’s rights guaranteed by the UN Charter, the G7 leaders said they were committed to bringing about peace in the country.
However, Moscow rejected Zelenskyy’s peace proposal and reiterated that it would not give up any territory, which is about a fifth of Ukraine.
Ukraine Peace Formula, which has the support of many Western allies, includes the restoration of the nation’s territorial integrity, a total withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, and the prosecution of war criminals.
