Maldivian President meets various Officials

Male, 11 October 2021 (TDI): Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili meets Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The President also held a meeting with the Ambassador of Egypt to Maldives, Hussain Al Saharty, These meetings were held this morning at the President’s Office.

Pololikashvili commended the Maldives for the positive strides in the development of its tourism sector. Also, highlighted the fact that the Maldives is a small country with a huge potential in developing sustainable models of tourism. Moreover, conveyed that the UNWTO is committed to help and support the Maldives in the development of sustainable means of tourism.

Both parties conversed on several areas of shared interest about the development of tourism. The two parties agreed on working closely together on future collaborations.

The Ambassador of Egypt to the Maldives, Hussain Al Saharty, has paid his farewell call on. President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Egyptian Government. He further conveyed his gratitude to the Egyptian Government for their continued assistance accorded to the Maldives. Both sides also held discussions on improving people-to-people contacts.
Ambassador Al Saharty applauded President Solih for the assistance displayed in enhancing the bilateral relations between Male and Cairo. He further expressed the Egyptian Government’s keenness to enhance Bilateral cooperation.
