Male, 15 October 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid congratulated the new Foreign Minister of Norway, Anniken Huitfeldt.

Abdulla Shahid congratulated her on the commencement of the term. He hoped that bilateral relations of will continue to grow stronger under Huitfeldt’s leadership.

Maldives and Norway share friendly relations. There is a Malaysia Norway Business Council to provide a forum for discussion and exchanging views on business conditions. Both countries are oil-producing nations. The petroleum industry has been the most important pillar in their bilateral relationship. They also co-operate in agricultural trade.
