Maldives Envoy presents credentials to King of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 3 December 2022 (TDI): The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives, Ali Hussain Didi presented his letter of credence to the King of Malaysia, Yang di Pertuan Agong.

On his arrival, the High Commissioner was received by people designated by the King. He then presented the letter of credence to the officials to be submitted to the King. He expressed his joy at the new achievement this will bring to both countries.

Also, he talked about the goodwill the President of Maldive, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has for the people of Malaysia and also continued to extend the President’s best wishes to them.

Yang di Pertuan Agong XVI, King of Malaysia congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment to his country. He further added that he is assured of all his support and cooperation in all his duties.

Adding that, the High Commissioner is always welcome in all decisions regarding his duty and the development of the people of Malaysia and Maldives.

The development of the people of Maldives is paramount to him and making sure that they get the best cooperation.

Also, in response, Ali Hussain expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Malaysia for their continued relations with the Maldives. Promising to work hard in promoting development among the people of Malaysia and Maldives.

Emphasizing that, the relations between both countries are of great importance to him and he will make sure that he works hard to keep these relations in their place.

Both countries have assisted each other in various ways ranging from economic support, political, and human resources development to sociocultural relations.

Maldives-Malaysia relations

Maldives and Malaysia have had bilateral ties for many years & continue to foster stronger relations. The economic challenges caused by the pandemic kept a heavy burden on both countries. This has called for stronger partnerships and cooperation in solving these situations.
