Maldives Condemn Attack on King Abdullah Airport in Saudi Arabia

Male, 11 October 2021 (TDI): Maldivian Government condemned the attack on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

Such deliberate attacks targeting vital civilian infrastructure undoubtedly violate International laws. The civilian casualties exhibit an elevated threat to the stability of the region. Male reaffirms, such deplorable acts of terrorism indicate the urgent need for constructive engagement by the parties concerned to find peaceful solutions to the conflicts.

According to a Saudi Press Agency report, the terrorist Iran-backed militia deployed a bomb-laden drone to attack the King Abdullah Airport in Jazan. The attack resultant in ten injured. Additionally, the hostile attempt resulted in minor material damage and some broken glass fronts in the airport.

In this hard time, The Government of Maldives offered its solidarity with the people and the Government of Saudi Arabia. The Maldivian Government reiterates its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
