Malaysian Minister’s courtesy call with Indonesian Ambassador

Kuala Lumpur, 7 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullahreceived a courtesy call from the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Dubes Hermono. Both reaffirmed the long-standing commitment to further strengthen the close bilateral relations and cooperation between both countries.

The two Muslim-majority Southeast Asian states established diplomatic relations in 1957 and are one of the most important bilateral partners in Southeast Asia. Both have many common characteristics, including standard frames of reference in history, culture, and religion. 

Malaysia has an embassy in Jakarta and a consulate general in Medan, Pekanbaru, and Pontianak. Likewise, Indonesia has an embassy in Kuala Lumpur and consulates general in Johor Bahru, George Town, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.
