Makhdum Khusro urged Tajikistan to invest in CPEC Projects

Islamabad, 15 September 2021 (TDI): A virtual meeting session was held by Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar with Minister for New Technologies and Industries Sherali Kabir. In the meeting, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Ismatullo Nasredin, and many other dignitaries from the two sides also participated. 

This meeting was organized regarding the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming meeting with the Tajik and Pakistani Business community. The participants contemplated the framework of cooperation of industrial sectors. Six areas were identified for cooperation by both sides including leather, mining, textile, pharmaceuticals, and food processing and surgical instruments.

The minister said that industrialists and the business community from both countries would help establish business-to-business (B2B) cooperation in the long run between Tajikistan and Pakistan. He also shed light on the investment-friendly environment of Pakistan and presented captivating opportunities for foreign investment- particularly in the CPEC sector. 

Tajikistan Minister for Industries, Sherali Kabir elucidated the five years’ plan of the Tajikistan government for mining and exploration of coal, minerals, and rare metals in his country. He also showed interest in deepening industrial and economic sector ties between Tajikistan and Pakistan during the official visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Tajikistan.
