Vilnius, 13 September 2021 (TDI): Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis met with Michael J. Murphy (Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State) last week, on September 10.
The two ministers discussed their common issues regarding bilateral economic cooperation, regional cooperation, and global security. Relations with Russia, Belarus, and China were also discussed.
Secondly, Landsbergis highlighted the cooperative role of the US with Lithuania in security and support for democracy. In the meeting, the two sides had an opportunity to enhance both economic ties and coordination in supply chain resiliency. Egidijus Meilūnas, a Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, called on the US to open its market for Lithuanian products to widen opportunities for its investments in Lithuania.
In the end, Murphy expressed his gratitude to Lithuania as an ally. Along with its productive meeting with the participants in the meeting.
