Libya’s Prime Minister Met Kuwaiti Foreign Minister

Tripoli, 21 October 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, met with the Prime Minister of Libya’s interim Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba in Tripoli.

Following Al-Sabah’s visit to Libya, Prime Minister Al-Dabaiba received the official in Tripoli, besides commending the role of Kuwait’s government in Libya’s stabilization. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the Kuwaiti-Libyan bilateral relationship in various fields, particularly their cooperation framework on addressing the shared regional challenges.

While exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments, the two leaders also discussed prospects of the Libyan Stability Initiative Conference, taking place today in Tripoli.

Speaking on the matter, Libya’s Prime Minister maintained that the Conference is important to build international support for a Libyan-led stability plan, as the country faces critical challenges in the way of elections approaching December 2021.

In addition, the officials committed to enhancing the bilateral partnership between Kuwait and the State of Libya to maintain peace, security, and stability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
