Tripoli, 7 September 2021 (TDI): Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Manquosh held a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias.
According to the Foreign Minister, the Government of National Unity appreciates good and friendly relations with the Greek government and its people. Greece is a friendly neighbor and both Libyans and Greeks have historical ties. Najla Al-Manquosh praised the Greek government’s positive efforts to stabilize Libya and hoped it could develop integrated cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Foreign Minister asked Greece to support and endorse Libya for successful elections to achieve stability in Libya which will result in stability for Greece, its neighbors, and the Mediterranean region in general. The Foreign Minister also called on the European Union to play an important role in monitoring the stability of Libya and supporting Libyan peace-keeping mechanisms.
Following the press conference, Najla Al-Manqoush, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from all over Greece, called on the European Union to seriously consider developing the necessary plans to help and support Libya in tackling the phenomenon of illegal immigration.
