Lebanon receives support from Arab countries due to diplomatic tensions

Beirut, 1 November 2021 (TDI): Amid diplomatic tensions between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates received communications from Oman and Qatar in support of the reestablishment of ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Minister stated Lebanon’s will to take all measures that lead to overcoming this crisis and returning relations to their fraternal nature.

Likewise, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants welcomed the statement issued by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It expressed its deep regret over the worsening relations between a number of Arab countries and the Lebanese Republic. As well, it called on everyone to exercise restraint and work to avoid escalation through dialogue and understanding.

Similarly, the official made a phone call with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani. In this call, the Lebanese representative thanked all efforts made to contain the escalation and alleviate the current crisis. It mentioned the importance of communication and meeting with all Gulf and Arab brothers.
