Islamabad (TDI): Millions of people worldwide come together on 12th Rabi ul Awal to celebrate the birth of the Last and Greatest Prophet SAWW. Rabi Ul Awal, the third month in the Islamic Lunar Calendar dating 12th falling Tuesday in Pakistan.
He is a prominent figure whose teachings of peace, compassion, and unity have left an incredible benchmark on humanity. SAWW stands for Sallala Ho Alaieihi Wa Aalaa Hi Wassalam meaning by Peace be Upon HIM and His Family.
The Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) of Allah was born in the blessed day of of 12th Rabi al-Awwal, Monday, April 22, 571 AD in Makkah Mokarrama, now in Saudi Arabia.
His father Hazrat Abdullah RA died two months after his birth and His mother Hazrat Aamina passed away six years after his birth.

This is not a religious commemoration but this reflects the values of the Prophet (PBUH) embodied that continue to inspire the people globally till the day of resurrection.
A Legacy of Mercy and Kindness
Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) is remembered as “Rahmat-ul-lil-Almeen” the Mercy to All the Worlds. His teachings stressed mercy, compassion, and justice for all living beings.
Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) said, “Show mercy to those on earth, and the One in heaven will show mercy to you.” This encapsulates his message of kindness and empathy.
From his humble beginnings in Makkah Mokarrama to his leadership in Medina Monawara, the Last Prophet’s (SAWW) life serves as a beacon of hope and guidance.

The examples he set, illustrated the importance of honesty, humility, and justice. His character is like the “walking Quran”, which explains a role model for people in different cultures and religions.
Unity, Brotherhood, & Generosity
Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) said, “No one is superior to another except piety and good action.” He championed unity and brotherhood and promoted social justice and equality.
Hazrat Anas (R.A) says that the Holy Prophet SAWW always gave away anything that was demanded from him and he possessed that. Once a man came to him and made a request. The Holy Prophet (SAWW) ordered to give him goats in great numbers from the wealth of charity spread between two mountains.
He returned to his people and said, “O my People, embrace Islam. Verily, Muhammad (SAWW), the Messenger of God, bestows so much that there is no fear of poverty.” Sahih Muslim: 2312.
While explaining the importance of generosity, the Holy Prophet (SAWW) said:
“The generous is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to people. The miser is far from Allah and Paradise and close to the fire.” Jami at-Tirmidhi: 1968.
A Call for Global Peace
The Holy Prophet (SAWW) emphasized the sanctity of human life and the importance of justice in his last sermon. He said, “Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord and that He will indeed reckon your deeds.”
As the world grapples with conflicts and crises, these timeless values are more relevant than ever. The Holy Prophet always conveyed non-violence and respect for all life.
He encourages nations and individuals to find peaceful solutions, building bridges rather than walls.

On 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, people decorate their homes, streets, and mosques with vibrant lights and green flags in respect of Muhammad’s (SAWW) birth.
In many places, large processions are held. This festive atmosphere reflects the deep love and reverence for the Prophet (SAWW).
