Dubai, 2 March (TDI): Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev paid a two-day-long visit to UAE where he met with the Emarati Economic and Climate Change ministers and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meeting with UAE Climate Change Minister

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister held a meeting with the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi. In the meeting, both discussed areas of cooperation in different fields.

These include expansion of export and import of food and agriculture products to the UAE, ecology, climate, agriculture, renewable energy resources, and the attraction of Emirati investments into the field of hydropower.

Moreover, they also talked about bilateral cooperation under the framework of the UN in the areas of environmental protection, green economy, and climate change. Furthermore, both sides agreed to hold video conferences at the expert level from both countries.

Lastly, the two ministers agreed to stay in touch to resolve issues of common interest.

Meeting with UAE Minister of Economy

Kyrgyz Minister also held a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the UAE, Abdullah Bin Taouk Al-Marri. Likewise, both agreed to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz Minister expressed his desire of holding the 2nd meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission. Further, he also proposed the formation  Kyrgyz-Emirates Business Forum to expand economic and trade relations through business visits.

In addition, both sides also shared thoughts about creating the Kyrgyz-Emirates Investment Fund (KEIF). Minister Kazakbaev expressed interest in using Emirati experience in reforming healthcare, public administration,  corruption, green economy, and counter-terrorism.

The Kyrgyz Minister also invited the Emarati Minister to visit Kyrgyzstan with a group of experts and business delegations.
