Bishkek (TDI): Kyrgyzstan’s elite State Committee for National Security (GKNB) Special Forces unit, Alpha, demonstrated advanced combat capabilities during the Asman Kozomolu 2025 anti-terrorist drills, held to enhance operational readiness in modern warfare scenarios.
The exercises featured the use of cutting-edge weaponry, including unmanned aerial vehicles, first-person view drones, and robotic ground systems.
The drills’ objective was to enhance the operational skills of troops in using modern combat technologies under conditions simulating real combat.
The committee said that in combat like conditions, crucial capabilities of modern combat robotics and UAVs were demonstrated, along with the manufacturing FPV drones process.
A major highlight of the show was storming a simulated administrative building deploying a ground-based combat robot, followed by a coordinated strike by special troops.

The personnel also practiced neutralizing enemy vehicles through kamikaze ground drones and attack drones armed with shaped-charge munitions.
Moreover, operators rehearsed using FPV drones with different payload-release mechanisms.
Kamchybek Tashiev, GKNB Chairman, attended the drills and participated in sniper shooting exercise. In his address to the troops, he stressed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to arming military and security units with advanced weapons to counter nrew threats.
Bishkek launched its drone program in late 2021, procuring Turkish-manufactured Bayraktar drones.

Since then, the country has increased its drone resources to also acquire Russian Orlan-10 UAVs.
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan opened its first drone base, and by last year, it had unveiled its first domestically manufactured drone at an industrial exhibition attended by President Sadyr Japarov.
