From Kazakhstan to US: KTZ Completes Pilot Wheat Flour Shipment

Astana (TDI): As a milestone for Kazakhstan’s export sector, KTZ Express, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), has successfully completed its first pilot shipment of wheat flour to the United States.

The experimental container shipment marks the beginning of what can possibly become a major new trade route between the Central Asian nation and North America.

The shipment, comprising 50 tons of high-quality, domestically produced wheat flour, was dispatched from the city of Kostanay in northern Kazakhstan to New York. The flour was produced by Salamat Company LLP and exported under the Eurasian Legacy brand.

This pilot initiative reflects growing ambitions by Kazakhstan to diversify its export markets and increase the global presence of its agricultural products.

Known for its vast grain-producing regions, Kazakhstan ranks among the world’s top wheat exporters. However, its processed flour exports have traditionally focused on markets in Central Asia and surrounding regions.

KTZ Express has said that this pilot shipment is just the beginning. The company is planning a significant increase in monthly shipment volumes in the near future, aiming to establish a steady and scalable export corridor for Kazakh flour.

The successful organization of this shipment also highlights the growing logistical capabilities of KTZ Express.

By leveraging multi-modal transport routes and international trade partnerships, the company is positioning Kazakhstan as a key player in global agri-food logistics.

Industry analysts say this move could pave way for more value-added agricultural exports from Kazakhstan, helping to reduce the country’s reliance on raw commodity sales and strengthening its position in the international food supply chain.

The Eurasian Legacy brand is expected to serve as a symbol of Kazakh agricultural quality in the US market, appealing to both commercial buyers and consumers seeking premium flour products.
