KSrelief Distributed 22,000 Winter Kits This Season in Pakistan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has concluded its large-scale Winterization Initiative in Pakistan, distributing 22,000 winter kits to vulnerable communities across some of the country’s coldest regions as part of its annual winter support program.

The humanitarian initiative was undertaken to support families facing severe weather conditions during the winter season. Winter kits were distributed among residents of 28 snow-bound and cold-affected districts across the country.

The assistance targeted areas most vulnerable to extreme winter temperatures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as well as selected districts in Punjab and Sindh where temperatures drop significantly during winters.

Each winter kit was designed to help families endure harsh weather conditions and included two polyester quilts, warm shawls for both men and women, and winter clothing for children and adults. The distribution provided much-needed protection against the cold and helped reduce winter-related vulnerabilities among low-income households.

The project was implemented in close coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and provincial disaster management authorities to ensure effective planning and transparent delivery of assistance.

Partner institutions included the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), and the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition, Hayat Foundation also played a key role in facilitating the distribution process and ensuring the aid reached communities most in need.

Through the winter support program, more than 151,236 individuals across Pakistan benefited from the distribution of winter kits. The initiative provided timely assistance to families living in remote and mountainous areas where harsh weather conditions often limit access to essential resources.

The completion of the project highlights KSrelief’s and Saudi Arabia’s role in addressing humanitarian needs in Pakistan and supporting vulnerable communities during periods of extreme weather.

KSrelief regularly implements relief and development initiatives worldwide, focusing on disaster response, food security, healthcare, and seasonal assistance programs to improve the well-being of vulnerable communities.
