Riyadh/Doha, 9 September 2022 (TDI): The leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the State of Qatar offered their condolences to the King Charles III of the United Kingdom (UK) on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning Monarch of the UK who reigned for 70 years. She passed away on Thursday in Balmoral.

Message by Saudi King

In his cable, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud said: “We have learned with great sadness the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Her Majesty was a model of leadership that will be immortalized in history.

We recall with appreciation the efforts of the deceased in consolidating the friendship and cooperation relations between our two friendly countries, as well as the high international status that Her Majesty enjoyed throughout the decades during which she acceded to the throne of your friendly country.

We send to Your Majesty, the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, hoping that you do not see any harm.”

Message by Saudi Crown Prince

Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia stated, “I am saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, who devoted her life to serve her country.

I express to Your Majesty, the Royal Family, and the friendly people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland deepest condolences and sincere sympathy, wishing you permanent good health and safety, and that you may never see any unpleasant thing.”

Condolences from State of Qatar

The Emir of State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed his sincere condolences to the British Royal family on the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Emir stated, “She was a source of inspiration”.

Statement by Embassy of Qatar

Further, the Embassy of Qatar in the UK expressed its deepest condolences on the passing of the Queen.

The statement read, “Since her accession to the throne in 1952 Her Majesty has enjoyed a historic reign, marked by her enormous service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

Throughout her reign, Her Majesty has been a constant source of stability and continuity in a changing world often marked by adversity and uncertainity, and the world is richer, and much safer place, thanks to her enormous contribution.

The State of Qatar was honored to first welcome Queen Elizabeth II to Doha in 1979, and since then our friendship with the United Kingdom has continued to strengthen, underpinned by our close collaboration across a range of key areas.

These bonds will not only continue to endure but will strengthen further, as our two countries continue to work together to tackle some of the most pressing challenges ahead of us.
