California (TDI): In an effort to improve its video calling and camera experience, WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Meta, has released a new feature.
The most recent version of WhatsApp is said to include augmented reality (AR) effects and filters, giving users new visual tools to customize their video conversations, according to the reliable news tracker WaBetaInfo.
Users can now include augmented reality effects straight into their camera interface with WhatsApp’s latest beta release, which features call effects and filters.
One of the most notable features is the recently added filter button, which enables users to apply many visual filters to photographs and videos with just one tap, enhancing their visual appeal.
At first, only live video calls could benefit from these visual improvements. The most recent version, though, allows users to use the camera to apply these effects as well.

“Before taking pictures or videos, users can make quick edits in real time by using this new button to easily switch between several filters,” according to WaBetaInfo.
One of the most noticeable improvements is a skin-smoothing filter that evens out skin tones and minimizes imperfections for a more put together appearance.
The platform has also included a function that was previously only available for video calls—background altering. For a more polished appearance, users can now obscure the background completely or replace their actual surroundings with virtual ones.

A lighting adjustment function, including a low-light option, has also been added by WhatsApp to enhance video quality. Images and videos shot in low light conditions are automatically brightened and made sharper by this setting.
At the moment, only beta testers with the most recent version of WhatsApp Beta for Android installed are able to use the functionality. In the upcoming weeks, a larger audience is anticipated to be added to the feature.
