Nur-Sultan (TDI): Kazakhstan has climbed to 24th position out of 193 countries in the 2024 UN E-Government Development Index, solidifying its status as the leading nation in Central Asia for e-governance.
This marks a significant improvement from its 28th position in 2022, with Denmark, Estonia, and Singapore securing the top three global spots.
To accelerate its digital transformation, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed landmark legislation on July 5 aimed at digitizing statistics and enhancing data management systems.
The law is expected to reduce statistical reporting requirements by 40-50% through amendments to laws governing state control, statistics, and data management.
Other Central Asian countries have also progressed in e-governance, albeit at varying rates.
