Islamabad (TD): Kazakhstan’s Ambassador in Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, met with Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, Executive Director of COMSATS, on Wednesday, to explore new fields of scientific collaboration and regional knowledge sharing.
The meeting was focused on exploring possible areas of cooperation in education, research, and innovation.
Following the information provided after the meeting, COMSATS expressed its interest in offering training courses and academic seminars in various scientific fields. Moreover, the proposal also includes access to laboratory facilities, including those that are dedicated to nanotechnology research.

The talks also involved the possibility of presenting IT solutions developed by COMSATS to Kazakhstan. These solutions, designed to improve digital learning and research facilities in member states, were seen as areas of collaboration.
Dr. Zakaria suggested organizing one of COMSATS major international events in Kazakhstan, a move that would make regional scientific collaboration more visible.
Ambassador Kistafin expressed his gratitude and emphasized the need for ongoing scientific efforts between the two countries. He also talked about the ongoing activities by the Kazakh Embassy to establish research partnerships and emphasized the desire to enhance cooperation with COMSATS and its members.

The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) is an intergovernmental agency founded in 1994 that promotes sustainable development in the Global South through the vehicle of science and technology cooperation.
