Kazakh President receives Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister

Nur Sultan, 27 October 2021 (TDI): Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Hungary, Mihály Varga. The Minister is in Nur-Sultan to take part in the 5th meeting of the Kazakh-Hungarian Strategic Council and the Business forum.

During the meeting, prospects for the development were discussed. Both sides discussed bilateral relations in economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They also touched upon the issues related to measures to tackle the pandemic. During their discussion, climate change and the regional agenda were also discussed. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the outcomes of Mihály Varga’s visit to Kazakhstan will be productive. It will give a serious impetus to the development of cooperation between the Nur Sultan and Budapest.

Mihály Varga expressed gratitude to the Kazakh Head of State. He noted that despite Pandemic, Kazakh-Hungarian relations have preserved their activity and dynamism.
The Hungarian politician also expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for the support provided during the pandemic. He informed him about the successful results of the Business forum in Nur-Sultan. During this forum, several important investment agreements were signed. In the end, the President awarded Mihály Varga with the Order of “Dostyk” II. it is awarded in recognition of his contribution to the development of Kazakh-Hungarian relations.
