Nur-Sultan, 8 October 2021 (TDI): Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a virtual meeting with the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Masatsugu Asakawa.
Both sides discussed the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank. The President congratulated Masatsugu Asakawa on his appointment as the President of the Asian Development Bank. He also appreciated the ADB’s important role in promoting the social and economic development of Kazakhstan.
Moreover, an important subject of the conversation was dedicated to the preparation of a new ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy for Kazakhstan. The Head of State also informed the ADB’s President about the growth of Kazakh GDP. He briefed him about the anti-inflationary measures taken in the country. The President also discussed the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, and support for Small and medium-sized enterprises.
Masatsugu Asakawa welcomed the measures taken in Kazakhstan to combat the pandemic spread. He appreciated Kazakhstan’s role in mitigating the pandemic impact on the country’s economy.
