Belfast, 13 April 2023 (TDI): President of the United States (US) Joe Biden recently met with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Belfast to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement and convey America’s enduring support for peace in Northern Ireland.

In the same vein, Joe Biden also highlighted his “strong desire” to increase US investment there.

The Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, which was signed on April 10, 1998, marked a historic moment in the history of Northern Ireland, bringing an end to decades of conflict and paving the way for a peaceful and prosperous future.

The agreement was the result of years of negotiations between the British and Irish governments, as well as political parties in Northern Ireland.

Moreover, President Biden and Prime Minister Sunak reaffirmed their commitment to the Good Friday Agreement and its support for peace in Northern Ireland.
