Jemal Beker: Pakistani Youth Joined Ethiopia’s 600 Million Tree Commute

Islamabad, 23 August 2024 (TDI): The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Special Envoy, Extraordinary Ambassador, and Plenipotentiary, H.E. Jemal Beker Abdula, gave a virtual speech at the COP-in-my-City 2024 Conference and informed the youth about Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali’s Green Legacy Initiative.

The Ambassador told the young attendees of the conference that Ethiopians, led by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, will break the global record by planting 600 million trees in a single day.

The Green Legacy Initiative, according to H.E. Ambassador Jemal Beker, was motivated by the Medemer ideology of H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, which placed a strong emphasis on combining financial and human resources to promote balanced, environmentally friendly, and sustainable national development.

According to him, the Green Legacy Initiative has improved Ethiopia’s green cover while simultaneously ensuring food security and boosting employment growth in the FDR Ethiopia.
