Islamabad (TDI): Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Dr Jemal Beker Abdula, officially presented his credentials to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov on Tuesday.
The ceremony took place at the President House in Bishkek during the Ambassador’s working visit.
Dr Jemal, based in Islamabad, is Ethiopia’s non-resident ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. Last week, he also presented his credentials to the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkmenistan.

During the ceremony, Dr Jemal conveyed greetings from Ethiopia’s President, Taye Atske Selassie, and expressed good wishes for Kyrgyzstan’s prosperity. He spoke about Ethiopia’s recent political, economic, and social reforms, which have improved the country’s global standing and promoted green development.
The Ambassador highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to addressing global and regional challenges and its leadership in African development, peacebuilding, and cooperation.
He also mentioned major initiatives like the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s Green Legacy Initiative, which focuses on afforestation and combating climate change.

President Zhaparov lauded Ethiopia’s reforms and climate initiatives, particularly efforts to protect mountain ecosystems.
He said the two countries could enhance mutual cooperation in trade, education, and health sectors.
The Kyrgyz President said he would fully support Dr Jemal’s bid to build a strong partnership between the two countries.
