Jeddah, 19 July 2023 (TDI): Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, undertook an official visit to Saudi Arabia on July 18. The purpose of the visit is to attend the inaugural Summit of the Heads of States titled “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).”

 

At Jeddah International Airport, the President was received by the Emir of Makkah, Prince Khalid Al Faisal, along with other officials.

In order to welcome the President, the airport deck was gracefully ornamented, with soldiers of the Guard of Honor standing along the walkway.

The President is expected to address the 1st meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf today in Jeddah.

Within the framework of this working visit, the President will meet with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman, along with other high-level officials of KSA.

GCC-CAS Summit

The GCC-CAS summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the five Central Asian countries will be the first-ever meeting of its kind.

Officials from the six GCC states and the Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, will be in attendance. Additionally, both sides will discuss various approaches to enhance collaboration and synchronization.

the meeting will escalate relations between the countries of the two regions, opening up new avenues of cooperation and collaboration in several sectors.
