Japanese Envoy calls on Punjab CM

Lahore (TDI):  Japanese Ambassador in Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi on Saturday called on Punjab Chief Minister (CM), Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

During the meeting, the Japanese Envoy and the CM discussed various ways to increase economic cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides emphasized promoting mutual relations, trade cooperation, and investment in various sectors.

On her part, the Punjab Chief Minister said all possible facilities will be provided to Japanese investors in the province.

The CM said the government seeks cooperation with Japan in the sectors of agriculture, minerals, IT, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and energy.

Japanese envoy’s appreciation

According to APP, Maryam Nawaz underscored the importance of increasing economic cooperation between the two countries.

“We hold Japan in high regard and are keen to explore new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation,” Maryam Nawaz said.

She also extended her gratitude for Japan’s support during the devastating 2022 floods, recognizing Japan’s consistent assistance to Pakistan in times of crisis.

Highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations, Maryam Nawaz praised Japan’s public welfare initiatives and development projects.

She invited Japanese investors to explore opportunities in Punjab, assuring them of full support and protection for their investments.

Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi commended the efforts of CM Maryam Nawaz and the leadership of her family, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in advancing public welfare. He also extended an invitation for her to visit Japan, which she graciously accepted.
