Jam Kamal, Cambodian PM Discuss Trade, Bilateral Ties

Phnom Penh (TDI): Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday called on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet at his office.

During the meeting, the minister thanked PM Manet for the warm hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation during the visit.

He said that his visit was a significant milestone in bilateral relations focusing on strengthening trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation.

The minister also highlighted the potential for collaboration between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

He said the two countries should enhance business-to-business (B2B) interactions as a foundation for building robust economic ties.

Jam Kamal also invited PM Manet to visit Pakistan at his convenience. He also highlighted the importance of establishing a Cambodian resident mission in Islamabad to deepen diplomatic and economic relations.

PM Samdech Manet welcomed the Pakistani delegation’s and appreciated the successful signing of the agreed minutes of the first Joint Trade Committee (JTC) meeting between the two nations.

The prime minister also highlighted Cambodia’s interest in building stronger defence cooperation, while referring to the recent visit of a high-level Cambodian defence delegation to Pakistan.

He further stated that the process of opening a Cambodian resident mission in Islamabad would be completed soon. He hoped that the move will strengthen bilateral ties and promote people-to-people connections.
