Islamabad (TDI): The 10th edition of the Italian Cuisine Week is being celebrated worldwide till 23rd November, 2025. The celebration started on November 17, and this year again the Italian Embassy in Pakistan is organizing events, carrying the tradition forward.
Observed in more than 100 countries, the initiative highlights Italy’s culinary traditions, focusing on themes of health, culture, sustainability, and innovation.
Organized under the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the week aims to present Italian cuisine not only as a collection of iconic flavors, but as a cultural identity deeply tied to history, agriculture, and lifestyle.

In Pakistan, the embassy is marking the occasion with a series of events in Islamabad and Lahore designed to foster cultural exchange and build appreciation for Italy’s gastronomic heritage.
In previous editions, the Italian Embassy has hosted gala dinners, food festivals, and live cooking demonstrations featuring visiting Italian chefs. This year, event in Islamabad is scheduled for November 26 while that in Lahore will be on November 29.
The past events have showcased classic dishes alongside regional specialties, emphasizing the shared culinary connections between the Mediterranean and South Asian traditions.
Last year’s programs included a focus on the Mediterranean diet and formal dinners in historic venues in Lahore and Islamabad, reflecting the evolving depth of Italian–Pakistani cultural engagement.
A recurring theme in these celebrations has been the Mediterranean diet, a staple of Italian culinary identity known for its emphasis on fresh ingredients, olive oil, and balanced nutrition.

This year’s events continue that focus, highlighting how traditional Italian foods represent both cultural heritage and modern concepts of health and sustainability.
The embassy’s participation is also aligned with Italy’s ongoing campaign for UNESCO recognition of Italian cuisine as an intangible cultural heritage.
By promoting cooking traditions abroad, the embassy contributes to a broader global effort that underscores the social and historical significance of Italian food.
In addition to activities in Islamabad and Lahore, Italian diplomatic missions across Pakistan are planning a variety of events through early 2026, including masterclasses, conferences, tasting sessions, and cultural showcases.
For Pakistan, where interest in international cuisine continues to grow, the Italian Cuisine Week offers an opportunity for the public to experience authentic Italian flavors and learn about the cultural narratives behind them.
