The mission has made significant contributions to the discovery and preservation of ancient monuments, especially in the Swat Valley, since its establishment.
The Mission has also worked on several important discoveries, such as ancient Buddhist monuments, historic buildings, and Gandhara-era paintings. These studies have provided investigators with a greater understanding of the history of the region and its connection with the rest of the world.
Apart from research and excavation, the Mission has also worked closely with Pakistani students and experts all across the country.

It has also offered training and shared knowledge to enable the creation of indigenous archaeological and conservation skill sets. Universities and cultural institutions of both countries have been involved in this collaboration.
During the event, students had a chance to learn more about the work done over the past seven decades. The event also showcased how the Mission has supported not just archaeological work but also friendship and learning between Italy and Pakistan.
As the Mission completes its 70 years, the event serves as a reminder of the strong relationship between the two countries and their shared interest in protecting cultural heritage for future generations.
